These Ultra-Rare, $4M Lamborghinis Are Being Recalled For Fire Risks”

All 12 units of the Lamborghini Veneno, a 12-cylinder, 750-horsepower model, are affected by the recall issued over the risk that a fuel system fault could lead to fires. The recall fix can be completed at any Lamborghini dealer.

There are only a dozen owned Lamborghini Venenos, but all are being recalled due to fire risks caused by faulty fuel systems, Lamborghini said Tuesday, via Automotive News.

Pricing for some of the recalled Aventadors starts at around $400,000, while the rare Veneno cost an upwards of $4 million, CNN reports.

According to a recall notice posted on the USA agency National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) website, approximately 1,500 Aventadors in the US, whose price starts at about ₹ 2.67 crore ($400,000), are also included in this global recall by Lamborghini.

Bad news, Lamborghini owners.

Every 2012-2017 Aventador in the United States except the new S and late-production SV models built after December 5, 2016, has a defective evaporative-emission system that can let gasoline soak through its charcoal filter and into the purge valves. In turn, these dealers will upgrade the affected vehicles' Evaporative Emission Control System (EVAP) system free of charge. Certain actions, such as revving the vehicle while idling, can put fuel vapor close enough to the hot exhaust system to create a fire risk. If purge valves are reached by fuel this could affect the functionality of the fuel EVAP system. Lamborghini will begin the recall on February 24. Meanwhile, affected Lamborghini supercar owners will be notified about this from February 24 to March 24.
