Honda unveils all-new WR-V”

Honda Car India launched the WRV crossover today in India at a starting price of INR 7.75 lakh for the base S MT petrol powered variant. The model will compete with the likes for Ford's EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki's Vitara Brezza.

The new compact SUV of Honda will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. Similar to the front, the rear too is different.

While the Honda's newest offering seems to look similar to the Honda Jazz, it seems to have taken plenty of design elements from the bigger BR-V.

The WR-V come in two engine types: the first being the 1.5L DOHC i-DTEC diesel engine churns out 3600rpm of power and 200NM torque.

Interiors: Coming to the interiors, the overall cabin of Honda WR-V remains identical to that of Jazz sibling. It gets 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, cruise control, unique style cockpit style instrument cluster, fabric upholstery, Multi-Information Display with Tripmeter and Fuel Level Indicator, 7 Step Illumination Control and much more.

The WR-V has been developed under the concept of 'Refresh for Urban India, ' which is built around three core concepts of Urban Active Lifestyle that is high seating stance and ground clearance, Smart Compact Exterior with Spacious Interior along with Versatility and Utility, Pleasurable high quality interior and class leading fuel efficiency.

Honda launched two variants, each, in petrol and diesel. "Around 40% of the total bookings have been made for the top-end variant of the model", cited Ueno. Honda has also added a host of features including a sunroof, the Digipad touchscreen infotainment system (first seen in the City), a front centre armrest, and a reversing camera with multiple views. The diesel variant will have an entry price of Rs 8.79 lakh.

The five-speed manual gear box petrol engine delivers 90bhp power at 110 Nm of torque and the six-speed manual gearbox diesel engine will deliver 98bhp power at 200 Nm of torque.
