Federer and Wawrinka in all-Swiss final at Indian Wells Masters”

He has lost three in a row against Federer since last getting the best of his fellow Swiss, most recently via a 7-5, 6-3, 1-6, 4-6, 6-3 decision in the Australian Open semis.

Federer has played one less match, as he received a walk-over in the quarterfinal with Nick Kyrgios pulling out due to fatigue.

The closest Sock got was a deuce in the eighth game of the second set, and Federer quickly dispersed the whiff of danger with two forehand winners.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - JANUARY 26: Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland congratulates Roger Federer of Switzerland on winning their semifinal match on day 11 of the 2017 Australian Open at Melbourne Park on January 26, 2017 in Melbourne, Australia.

Federer will face Wawrinka in the final after the world number three beat Pablo Carreno-Busta in straight sets to win the first semi-final. The Swiss earned another break for a 2-1 lead in the second set and never looked back, serving it out to take the set 6-2 and win the match in 64 minutes.

Fans will soon catch Federer on a more familiar teritory on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time) when he plays either Jack Sock or Kei Nishikori at the BNP Paribas Open final.

Gunmen and Their Families to Leave al-Waer Neighborhood in Homs
More groups of fighters and civilians are expected to leave the district in the next two months. Homs was the early center of the 2011 popular uprising against President Bashar al-Assad.

"For me, it's great-it's (an) fantastic result to be in the final here, especially in Indian Wells, one of the best Masters 1000 (events)", Wawrinka commented. "It was hard to break and return well off Jack's heavy serve", Federer said. "So, that's maybe why I played as free as I did, until the very end".

The 24-year-old American zinged a backhand victor past Federer for a 3-1 lead in the decider to get the fans on his side, but Federer won six of the next seven points to wrap the tie.

"I was excited for Miami past year, was going to test my knee, and then I got there and I got a stomach bug", he said. "I understand that, but it's tough for the player and for the fans and tough for the opponent". Sock got a sense of what it takes to be in the match against a great player, not merely on the court.

Federer has a 19-3 career record against Wawrinka, including a five-set win in their semi-final clash at this year's Australian Open. But Wawrinka got little resistance Saturday from Carreno Busta.

Federer, Foster, Grigor Dimitrov and Tommy Haas reunited to perform a more polished, well-practiced rendition of the 1980s classic "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" by the band Chicago. "That's why, too much up and down", Wawrinka said.
