Reports claim Wenger wants to stay on at Arsenal”

Arsene Wenger seems poised to extend his managerial career at Arsenal, according to reports.

Wenger, too, has reportedly mentioned that he wants to stay on with Arsenal even beyond the end of the present football season, despite the plethora of disappointing results infuriating the Arsenal fans.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has issued a heartfelt apology to Arsenal's fans after their 3-1 loss to West Brom in the Premier League on Saturday.

Two goals by Craig Dawson and one from substitute Hal Robson-Kanu meant Arsenal have lost four of their last five Premier League games - the worst run in Wenger's 21-year rule at the north London club.

A mass "Wenger Out" protest was held prior to their Champions League second leg mauling to Bayern, while a banner flew over their defeat at West Brom at the weekend saying 'No Contract #WengerOut'.

Wenger, 67, has previously said he will make a decision on his future before the end of the campaign and it appears the news will break very soon.

"I think he is the greatest manager Arsenal have ever had". The reports, which all say almost the same thing, indicating a club briefing, state that the club have not revoked the offer of a two-year contract, though continue to insist that any decision will be "mutual".

"It will not necessarily be linked with that because I've done the top four 20 times", he said.

With supporters seemingly more against him staying than leaving these days, questions have been raised about the Arsenal players and their commitment to the cause, with our Monday Verdict suggesting some form of player revolt.

'I take a bigger perspective than that.

"I watch the game, I do not watch the stands during the game", a defiant Wenger said.

Arsenal have not commented on the reports on Wenger's future. I don't judge other people. As for all the rest, everybody has to look at themselves'.
