Swansea City-Watford Preview

Swansea City-Watford Previewā€¯

Manager Paul Clement had a big initial impact when he took over at the Welsh club, stopping the rot and giving the fans hope that Premier League status could be retained.

Swansea City must add an element of feistiness to their game if they are to kick-start their bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League at Watford on Saturday, winger Wayne Routledge has said.

Mawson's dawdling proved costly as the Hornets saw out the game to take the win and move on to 40 points, all-but assuring themselves of another season in the top flight.

Swansea were held to a home goalless draw by fellow strugglers Middlesbrough before they were beaten by three late Tottenham goals.

"With five games to go we are more than likely going to need to win three of those, and who will know if even that will be enough".

Clement's side will be fighting for their lives at Vicarage Road later - but, as a classy Spurs side demonstrated 10 days ago, they have a soft underbelly and the Swansea head coach has already had to deny his side are "anxious" in the build-up to today's game.

For Clement the manner of the West Ham defeat was particularly galling but he insisted both he and his team will learn from their mistakes as they focus on the last six games of the campaign.

Boy, 5, dies after getting head stuck at rotating restaurant
The rotating floor automatically shut off and Westin's security staff and employees were able to dislodge the child. In a statement, the owner of the restaurant, George Reed, said "words can not express the depths of our sorrow".

"He will be a loss to us, but this is an opportunity for another midfielder to come in, possible someone who is fresh". It was an individual error and it came at a bad time.

"I thought there was an anxiety in our play and it's hard to say why that was the case".

"When you have gone six games and you have picked up one point, confidence can be affected and has been affected, but we have to deal with that".

"Everyone is saying Watford is like a final but it's nearly more than a final now". But I have always said to the players that if they are going to do that, they should not get too excited when people are praising them and they should not get down when they are being criticised.

As for Watford, a third home win in succession means they will be playing Premier League football again next season, though Walter Mazzarri's own future remains less certain.

"When the boss came in we went on incredible run".
