Oklahoma sheriff's deputy dies after shooting”

Authorities say an Oklahoma deputy was shot following an altercation on Tuesday morning (April 18) and a manhunt is now underway for the suspect. Logan County Sheriff Damon Devereaux told reporters Wade was shot several times, including in the face. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Nathan Aaron Leforce, 45, was captured and in custody Tuesday afternoon after authorities say he fatally shot Logan County sheriff's deputy David Wade and fled in a stolen vehicle, according to Oklahoma City Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Wade's Facebook page shows a beaming Wade standing with his son and wearing a T-shirt that says "My son is a Marine".

Wade was able to fire, Devereaux said, then radioed in to headquarters to say that he had been shot. "I don't think you could have a bigger honor than that".

Leforce then allegedly stole the deputy's patrol auto, before driving it to a gas station and stealing another vehicle from a woman, the OHP said. Wade was married with children and had worked for the sheriff's office about three years.

Vincent said LeForce was found in a nearby outbuilding, where he surrendered to authorities.

Oklahoma City Police and OHP swarmed the area with helicopters.
