Eli Manning Says He's Done 'Nothing Wrong' Amid Memorabilia Scandal

Eli Manning Says He's Done 'Nothing Wrong' Amid Memorabilia Scandal”

The Giants quarterback is accused of asking team equipment manager Joe Skiba to produce helmets that could pass as game worn so they could be sold to unwitting memorabilia collectors.

Steiner later told ESPN he was out of the country when the story broke and had not yet had a chance to speak to Manning.

"I will say I have never done what I've been accused of doing", Manning said on Thursday. "I have no reason nor have I had any reason to do anything of that nature".

Recently, the CEO of Steiner Sports, Brandon Steiner, had Manning's back, saying that he's "someone I would say I trust my children with".

Manning said he could not go into specifics because of the pending litigation. I know when this is done, everyone will see it the same way....

Multiple emails then proved that "Manning was looking to give non-game-used helmets to Steiner to satisfy (fraudulently) his contractual obligation" with Steiner, according to the NY Post. The email had been included in court documents.

Manning seems particularly upset how quickly many have seemingly turned on him, despite his history in NY and his many years without incidents since entering the NFL.

"When Eli Manning walks into your office and he says, "These are my game-used items". "I think my track record of how I've handled myself since I've been here in NY, since 2004, speaks for itself".

Manning said he is "definitely" angry at the way he has been portrayed.

"I've tried to do everything with class and be a stand-up citizen", Manning said. The two-time Super Bowl MVP predicts he will be vindicated.

"A lot of times, we're not in the locker room, and there are a lot of leagues and teams that don't have authentication programs that really secure product", he said.
